Say I'm Your Number One

Find out what was Number 1 on the day you were born.

Good Vibrations

Last weekend, most of the posse, went to The Good Vibrations Festival in Centennial Park. Such artists as Shaun Ryder, Norman Jay and James Brown, were playing to mention a few. The highlight of the night was seeing some weirdo come out of the toilets in The Crown Hotel, but a close second was The Nextmen, who played an awsome set.
I thought I was being smart buying my ticket on ebay for $40 less than the cost price, but I easily made up for that in the $10 coctails i was drinking.

European Commission

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5-year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.

Tere will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".

During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou" and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensibl rite n styl.

Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru. Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze forst plas.

Ladyboy or not Ladyboy

Sorry about neglecting the fun and games bit of my blog. This next link is here to act as a bit of a learning curve for the upcoming Mardi Gras, which is on in about 3 weeks time in Sydney. I was pretty grateful when I scored 10 out of 12.

World War II In Colour

For so many years, historians and casual observers alike have observed the events of World War II through faded black and white images. What most people do not know is the fact that quite a large portion of the WWII was shot using color film! However, it wasn't until recently that a lot of the photographs and motion picture footage was de-classified by the U.S. Government.
Here is a link to loads of these photos.
